During a 24-hour period I locked myself inside an empty room. I entered the space with the clothes I was wearing that day and a small bottle of water. I observed my body, my thoughts and filmed my movements inside the room during those 24 hours.
After this experience, I wrote down what happened inside the space during that time. I described simple gestures and movements, for example: “lie on your back, move your feet softly towards the left and the right” or “feel your skin”. The most reoccurring command was ”try to sleep.” I used the same descriptions, over and over again in my writing, to create a repeating pattern that acted as a carpet of language, to be laid out on the floor.
