System Magazine Beauty Issue 2 - “Patches of chewing gum”

In this ongoing series, “The Accidental Fold,” I use both my existing archive of lost and discarded objects and continually add material I find on my walks through cities and in nature. 

I use both traditional loom weaving and paper weaving to connect these found objects, such as crumpled packaging materials, book pages with tire tracks, shopping lists or lost homework with water stains, pieces of fireworks and balloons, fishing lines and nets, and so much more. By connecting these seemingly unrelated items, found in seemingly unrelated places, they become interconnected. Once woven together, they tell a story of their own.
